How we got our name

Yes the Ribcrackers did get our name from someone getting a cracked rib. 6 Years ago founder members Guy and Andy were camped next to each other at the Into the Valley rally 2000. They got talking to each other and as more beer was consumed and the night went on Guy turned into a bull and Andy the matador. The game ended with Guy getting some cracked ribs.
Some time after this at another rally they decided that they and the circle of friends who were going to rallies with them should have a name and the Ribcrackers were born. The idea being they had a ribcracking good time.

What we are

We see ourselves more as a collective of like-minded souls than the more normal structured bike club. The mcc in the web address being there due to it being the only way to get a Ribcrackers domain name. MCC in Ribcracker speak standing for MotorCycle Collective. We don't have a committee or leadership as such just some poor sods that didn't manage to be elsewhere (IE: -the bar) when it was decided we needed the odd person to act as responsible adults. We are a family club and class partners and children (referred to as monkey slaves) as members too.
You will normally find us wearing fancy dress and down the front dancing rather than being stood in the corner with our arms crossed as life is too short not to spend have a laugh and a joke. We have members lurking all over the country, but are based mainly in the East Midlands with the majority of members living around Derby and Notts.

Ribcrackers Members

We have a reputation for partying hard at events all year round and as hard working event organisers. With our two
annual events that we put on each year St Valentines Day Massacre/Soapbox Derby and Run to the Sun Rally getting bigger each year. The Valentines do even appearing in BSH last year.

So what makes a good Ribcracker you might ask?

Well.
A good Ribcracker is someone who has a sense of humour and you can party with, one who won't sod off and leave you in the smelly stuff when things get tough. Who will roll their sleeves up and muck in when things need doing. And yes has a love of bikes.
Basically all the things you look and hope for in your best mates is what you will find in a Ribcracker.

We don't actively look to recruit new members and have always tended to have a policy of us joining you rather than you joining us.
But if you like what you see and think you have what it takes to help the Ribcrackers in our mission to have fun whilst helping others enjoy themselves, then pester the next person you see in a burgundy top with Ribcrackers on and we might tell you more. Oh and offers of free drinks rarely get refused.............

See you at the next rally and keep it shiny side up.
